ABOUT

To visualize the fragility and limitations of our energy system, I have developed an electric circuit that takes care of each other. 4 lamps have to share its energy source in relation to their need [size].

The model of friendship and unconditional help.
Sharing energy leads to connection and solidarity. During a visit to my hometown village in the mountains, I noticed how knowledge, power and “energy”are often distributed more evenly in rural areas than in my new home - the city.

Through the development of a mindful and considerate electric circuit, users can experience an integrative behavior between objects and themselves.
Through digitalization we are used to switch on more things to get more entertainment and impressions. With this model by switching on more the light gets less. In the end when we want everything we get a reduction to the silluette.

01 – lamps sharing the energy
02

03 – control panel controling 3 lamps – visualizing the lamps in front of the user in form of switches

Identification through participation. By including and connecting the visitor with my phonomena through participation, knowledge is transformed in a playful way. Visitors seeing themselfes as a part of the problem and identify themselfes with it.

The projects was part of the exhibition [klick for more info] in the werkwarenhuis in den Bosch and besides my other projects: colaborative_sun and visitor_source

04 – lamp can be clamped between two objects

05 – modularity through a metric screw

On the technical side I used a metric screw system to be able to adapt to space. Every end of the tube can be replaced by a different base, head or hanging/clamping mechanism. I exhibited 4 possible solutions to bring light to the exhibition.

06 – visitor experiences the light difference
